Mental health – moderate to high complexity (young people)

What is available?

Primary Health Tasmania has commissioned Psychology CAFFE to deliver short-term psychological support to people of all ages living in the Burnie and Devonport areas.

Clients will have access to up to 24 individual sessions of care. Group sessions are also available for clients who may benefit from this approach.

The service aims to reduce clients’ psychological distress and improve their quality of life.

Who is eligible?

People with moderate to high complexity mental illness who report a K10+ assessment score above 25, or an SDQ of above 17 for parent-reported or above 20 for client-reported assessments.

People who have attempted (or are at risk of) suicide or self-harm are also eligible.

Where is it available?

This service is available in the Burnie, Devonport, Central Coast and Latrobe local government areas, as well as in Sheffield and Deloraine.

Clients outside these areas may instead be eligible for our commissioned mild to moderate psychological therapy services. Click here to find out more.

Who can make a referral?

People will need to obtain a Mental Health Care Plan from their GP to access this service, or be referred by a psychiatrist or paediatrician.

How much does it cost?

There is no cost to clients to use this service.
