Suicide prevention - workplace education and training

What is available?

Primary Health Tasmania has commissioned Lifeline Tasmania through the OzHelp Tasmania program to provide workplace education and training, including:

  • suicide prevention training including capacity building, resilience skilling and mental health and wellbeing awareness within Tasmanian industries to protect against suicide
  • support and referral pathways to appropriate service providers for those workers affected by suicide or mental health issues.

Who is eligible?

All Tasmanian workplaces.

Where is it available?

This service is available statewide.

Not all services are physically delivered in every local community, but eligible people in the areas indicated have access to the services either face-to-face or through other means such as phone support. Speak to the service provider (below) for more information.

Who can make a referral?

Staff members from any Tasmanian workplace may make a referral.

What is the IAR level of care? (information for health professionals)

This is an Initial Assessment and Referral (IAR) Level of Care 1 (self-management) and 2 (low intensity) service. More information about IAR is available here.

How much does it cost?

There is a mixture of free and fee-for-service services.
